So quite a few songs on multiple lists there, Chasing Cars, Rehab, Crazy In Love, Hey Ya!, Paper Planes, Can't Get You Out Of My Head and Crazy. But did any of these top our charts - anyone like to hazard a guess? Vote on the blog poll!
Also looking at those lists there was a few indy/rock tracks that didn't make our final list.
So here's a quick list of the best performaing indy/rocks songs outside the Top 100:
1. The Strokes – Last Nite #133
The Strokes made rock and guitars popular again. Kaiser Chiefs, Kings of Leon et al have a lot to thank them for.
2. Queens of The Stone Age – No One Knows #146
Topped Triple J's Hottest 100 in 2003 and showed gingers could be hot.
3. Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Californication #175
Probably their best track of the noughties
4. Green Day – American Idiot #181
Too mainstream protest for my liking. Best music days are behind them.
5. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Gold Lion #197
Shame this great band didn't make the lists - I prefer Maps or Turn Into though...
5. Elbow - One Day Like This #197
If people could listen to the shortlist rather than read it, this song may have made it.
7. Hot Chip - Over and Over #216
Amazing song - would be in my Top 10 or 20 of the Decade.
7. Justice v Simian - We are Your Friends #216
Great track
7. Muse - Supermassive Black Hole #216
Muse were great in the Noughties - travesty none of their tracks did well.
7. Goldfrapp – Ohh La La #216
Consistently good but 216 is about right for them....
7. Klaxons – Gold Skans #216
All a bit OTT but I still loved it! Great vid too.
